As part of the TECTONIC project, international researchers gathered at the University of Patras for workshops and fieldwork dedicated to underwater cultural heritage. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on demonstrations of innovative conservation materials, the secondment fostered dialogue on heritage science, environmental risks, and sustainable preservation practices in the Aegean and Ionian Seas.

Dr. Salvatore Medaglia (University of Calabria) concluded a research stay at CENPAT–CONICET in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, focusing on 19th-century shipwrecks. In collaboration with Dr. Guillermo Gutiérrez, the work advanced the TECTONIC project’s investigations on the Emma schooner and other submerged heritage sites, emphasizing conservation strategies for the intertidal zone of the Patagonian coast.
