On May 27, 2025, Atlantis Consulting hosted a seminar within the TECTONIC project, featuring contributions from researchers at the University of Calabria. The event focused on blue growth, cultural heritage, and innovative interdisciplinary research.

Tectonic encounters in the Aegean and Ionian Seas: workshop and fieldwork highlights
As part of the TECTONIC project, international researchers gathered at the University of Patras for workshops and fieldwork dedicated to underwater cultural heritage. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on demonstrations of innovative conservation materials, the secondment fostered dialogue on heritage science, environmental risks, and sustainable preservation practices in the Aegean and Ionian Seas.

Research Stay in Puerto Madryn: Advancing Underwater Cultural Heritage Studies
Dr. Salvatore Medaglia (University of Calabria) concluded a research stay at CENPAT–CONICET in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia, focusing on 19th-century shipwrecks. In collaboration with Dr. Guillermo Gutiérrez, the work advanced the TECTONIC project’s investigations on the Emma schooner and other submerged heritage sites, emphasizing conservation strategies for the intertidal zone of the Patagonian coast.
